TitleExamining Vroom’s Expectancy Theory and The Modified Expectancy Theory and the Work Performance of the Bulacan State University Faculty Members

AbstractThe focus of the study was the motivational factors that affect the work motivation, and the effects of the traditional expectancy model and modified expectancy model on the professional achievements of the faculty members of the Bulacan State University. The study focused on the assessment of the motivation factors of the faculty by examining and applying The Traditional Expectancy and the Modified Expectancy Theory through questionnaires in BulSU. The study used 233 regular faculty members in the BulSU for SY 2012-2013. The study utilized descriptive research methods in the study and descriptive statistics to find the significant differences between the variables in the study. Covered in this study were 233 regular faculty members in the BulSU for SY 2012-2013. The research relied massively on the use of survey questionnaires as the primary source of gathering data. Mean rating and standard deviation was used. The data gathered and collected were classified and presented in tables. Overall results showed that the respondents from the BulSU prefers Intrinsic Valence which is all about internal rewards such as challenging work tasks has a high value to them, Performing well in their job will result in feeling very good about themselves and being productive in their job achieves high level of job satisfaction and job enjoyment.
